Bona Dance Berlin
where the joy of dancing is for everyone
Our mission is simple: to make contemporary dance accessible to all adults, regardless of age or background. Our approach is a framework of regular groups that go through a learning and training process over time which allows for in-depth, intimate group and personal work.
Bona is more than just a dance school; It is a community that celebrates the inclusivity and passion for dance.
We are expanding throughout Europe with highly professional teachers, we offer a unique combination of courses in contemporary and modern dance, improvisation, contact improvisation, alongside movement and somatic work.
Our Team
Stefanie Woitun, Course management
At 26, Stefanie left academia to embrace dance, radically transforming her life. Traveling globally, she studied with diverse teachers, becoming captivated by the body-mind-emotion connection. This journey led her to trauma-sensitive coaching, where she explored emotional integration through movement. Dance not only grounded her but also expanded her understanding of expression beyond words. Committed to making dance accessible to all, she believes in its transformative power as a fundamental human experience. Her story is a testament to the impact of pursuing one's passion, advocating for an inclusive world where dance is a universal language of expression and healing.
Adi Brief, Administrative course management
Adi was born in Israel and is based in Germany since 2012. She produced and developed the Israeli contact improvisation dance festival, and the Ponderosa dance center near Berlin. Through creating spaces for dance to happen in different forms, she realized that life is a dance. Dance has deepened the connection to herself, to her work and to her surroundings. It is another way to express yourself, feel your body, connect to your mind and with others. She strongly believes that age, experience or physical abilities don’t matter - everyone can dance! Dance is for everyone, and an experience worth having!
Cristiana Casadio
Contemporary dance and improvisation.
Cristiana Casadio is a dancer, choreographer and teacher based in Berlin.
She danced for several companies in Europe and since 2010 has been based in Berlin, taking part in different productions and projects, as a dancer and a choreographer, presenting her works in international theatres and festivals.
Her class is influenced by different dance techniques - ballet, release, floor work - combined with her personal research. It’s developed to improve agility and coordination, increasing the movement vocabulary, and to find one’s own personal way of moving, always keeping in mind that technique is an important tool - but just a tool! - to make the pleasure of moving richer.
Taylor Unwin
Contemporary dance and improvisation.
Taylor Unwin is a freelance dancer and choreographer in Berlin, trained in the Ilan Lev Method. She's involved in modern and improv dance projects and works on her own dance ideas through movement research and body practices. In our Contemporary Movement class, we focus on feeling our movements more clearly and moving more smoothly. We do exercises that help us pay attention, aim for something, be clear, and use our imagination. This helps us learn dance techniques and explore them creatively to express ourselves in many ways through dance.
