Contemporary Dance Course
If dancing has always been an unrealized dream for you, if you wanted to but didn’t dare, thinking it was too late – this course will prove that it’s possible!
A contemporary dance course for beginners, teaching dance from the basics in a supportive and non-judgmental environment. This is a place where you can make mistakes, experiment, and leave each class feeling accomplished. The course progressively introduces the basics of understanding your body,
the space, group work, modern dance elements, proper posture, and musicality. It evolves into more complex contemporary dance techniques, including floor work and dynamics of softness and strength. Designed for complete beginners, those who danced long ago, or those with minimal dance experience, this course involves two consecutive lessons with two teachers, offering a rich experience of contemporary dance techniques and styles.

Our Teachers
Cristiana Casadio
Cristiana Casadio is a dancer, choreographer and teacher based in Berlin. She danced for several companies in Europe and since 2010 has been based in Berlin, taking part in different productions and projects, as a dancer and a choreographer, presenting her works in international theatres and festivals. Her class is influenced by different dance techniques - ballet, release, floor work - combined with her personal research. It’s developed to improve agility and coordination, increasing the movement vocabulary, and to find one’s own personal way of moving, always keeping in mind that technique is an important tool - but just a tool! - to make the pleasure of moving richer.
Taylor Unwin
Taylor Unwin is a freelance dancer and choreographer in Berlin, trained in the Ilan Lev Method. She's involved in modern and improv dance projects and works on her own dance ideas through movement research and body practices. In our Contemporary Movement class, we focus on feeling our movements more clearly and moving more smoothly. We do exercises that help us pay attention, aim for something, be clear, and use our imagination. This helps us learn dance techniques and explore them creatively to express ourselves in many ways through dance.
